Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
The information behind a page visit
Photonhead’s operator uses information to publish photonhead.com, answer readers and administer any optional features in use. This policy covers those activities. For a privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
Loading a photograph or article sends a request from your browser. Operational records may include the IP address, browser and device characteristics, referring page, requested resource and time. These details support delivery, troubleshooting and protection against misuse. If analytics is enabled, activity and identifiers may also help assess which material readers use and how they find it. Analytics data should not be assumed anonymous simply because a name is absent.
What you send us
A message can contain your name, email address, question and files. A contact form may also use technical checks to filter spam. We handle these records to evaluate the message, reply and keep an appropriate record of the exchange.
Before attaching an image, consider what it reveals. A photograph or its metadata may contain a location, a person’s identity or other private details that are unnecessary to the inquiry. Please remove information you do not need to share and avoid sending sensitive documents through ordinary correspondence.
Where newsletter subscriptions are available, subscriber details and preferences support distribution. Mailing tools may retain delivery status and, if enabled, opening or click activity. Unsubscribing stops promotional mailings covered by that request, although a minimal do-not-send record may be retained.
Advertising, links and browser storage
The site may include advertising, affiliate referrals or externally supplied media. An advertising tool may receive an IP address, identifiers, page context and engagement data for serving ads, measuring results or personalizing selections. Certain arrangements may qualify as sale, sharing or targeted advertising under applicable privacy law. Affiliate referrals can transmit attribution details connected with a qualifying transaction and commission. Loading an embedded item may contact its provider before you leave this site.
Cookies and related technologies, including pixels, can support enabled features. You can manage browser storage, but deleting cookies does not erase all existing records, and blocking them does not necessarily prevent other data transfers. Available feature-specific controls have their stated scope. Applicable legally recognized opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control where required, must be respected; Do Not Track is separate and is not a general assurance that all tracking stops.
Disclosure and storage
Information can be handled by service providers supporting hosting, correspondence, mailing, security or other tools that are used. Some commercial or embedded-content partners determine their own processing purposes, governed by their own policies. Relevant records may also be disclosed to comply with law, address suspected wrongdoing, defend rights or protect safety. If ownership of the publication or relevant assets changes, information may transfer subject to applicable safeguards. External destinations operate their own privacy practices.
We consider purpose when retaining records. A resolved inquiry, an active subscription and an incident log have different useful lifetimes. Ongoing disputes, legal obligations or security investigations may require preservation beyond ordinary operational use. Safeguards cannot eliminate every security risk, so no absolute protection against loss or unauthorized access is promised.
Reader choices and requests
Your location and the law that applies may give you rights to access or receive a copy of information, correct it, request deletion, restrict certain sensitive-data uses, or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Contact the address above to make a request or ask how an available choice works.
We may need proportionate verification before disclosing or altering records. Opt-out requests should not require unnecessary proof of identity. Where the law provides for an authorized agent or an appeal, those routes apply. Legal exceptions can affect a response, but using a protected privacy right will not lead to unlawful discrimination.
Photonhead is intended for adults rather than children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If a child has supplied information, tell us so it can be investigated and deleted as appropriate. Policy changes will be posted here, with further notice or permission when legally necessary. Visiting the publication is not blanket consent to optional data uses.
